How to Freshen-up Your Wardrobe without Spending a Fortune
Wearing the same outfit can get really boring and overtime you may run out of ideas how to create new outfits. If you are thinking about freshening-up your outfit, but don't exactly want to spend a fortune buying all new major items, here are some ideas on how to freshen-up your wardrobe in 6 simple steps.
The most important quality any outfit should have is that you feel comfortable in it, and I don't mean comfortable as in sweatpants comfortable, I mean comfortable as in you feel you are in your element vs feeling like a cat wearing a sweater... So even if you plan on doing some soft of a makeover, do it gradually. Here are some tips on how to upgrade your outfits and wardrobe with a few basic changes.
1. Throw away any items that you haven't worn for over 1 year. Yes, I know, you still plan to wear that pair of shoes that don't fit you really well to that special event that will never happen, but really just get rid of it, if you always find excuses to not wear certain pieces of clothing, this is a huge sign that it is time for you both to go your separate ways. The clutter in your wardrobe distracts you from focusing on ways to combine your good pieces into awesome authentic outfits.
2. Clean and polish any leather items you have, especially shoes and jackets. Leather items can lose some of their coloring and shine over time, refinishing the coloring can make them look like brand new, and even better than new, because with a little wear and tear, a leather item can look very authentic and cool. Shoes are arguably the most tell a tale part of an outfit, even if you are wearing something incredible, but your shoes are awful or dirty, the whole look gets contaminated and will only be seen as something awful and dirty. Clean polished shoes look classy and stylish, and your outfits can only grow from here.
3. Invest in nice belts. A nice belt will always improve your outfit.
4. Invest in new leather straps for your watches. If you don't want to spend money on a whole new watch, get some good quality leather straps, and your watch will look pretty fresh.
5. Get a nice jacket.
6. Lock your gym shoes at the gym locker.
